tx-appraisal-districts-count	Number of appraisal districts in Texas	The Comptroller's own county directory (comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/property-tax/county-directory/) lists 254 numbered county entries (001 Anderson through 254 Zavala), matching Texas's 254 counties -- confirmed directly on 2026-09-01. However, that page does not itself state a distinct 'appraisal district' count, and a secondary source (a Texas Legislature fiscal note) separately put the number of appraisal districts at 253, which would make sense if any two counties share a consolidated appraisal district. Whether the district count is 253 or 254 was not resolved with a single source stating it directly -- do not publish either number as the appraisal-district count until a Comptroller page states it explicitly.
